Wind Power Works
The 2009 UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen COP15 is a unique opportunity for the industry to promote wind energy solutions. Global politicians and leaders are gathered to agree on how to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions and to create a more sustainable world. The world will be watching.
Future generations will look back on Copenhagen as a milestone in the global fight against climate change. However, in the minds of too many decision-makers in the climate debate, wind power is at best regarded as a marginal solution. We need to change that perception before COP15.
The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and Danish Wind Industry Association has launched a campaign, Wind Power Works, that will aim to achieve just that: Greater focus on wind power as a climate change solution.
The campaign starts in Poznan, Poland at COP14 - 12 months in advance, and ends in Copenhagen december 2009. Every month during 2009 a new wind power solution site case will be used to show that Wind Power Works.
