The Danish wind industry has seen average yearly growth rates of 20 percent over the last ten years. The intense growth rates are in particular due the fact that Danish suppliers have increased their export to foreign manufacturers on the global market.
In 2008 the Danish wind industry export rose 20 percent to 42 billion DKK which is 7,2 percent of the total Danish exports.
The Danish and Global market
In 2009 the world's largest offshore wind farm was completed of the coast of Denmark and a added 209 MW to the Danish wind power capacity.

By the end of 2008 the global wind market had a cumulative capacity of 120.798 MW. A total of 27.051 MW was installed in 2008 - lead by USA and China.
