Now we have two forces working against each other: gravity and lift.		The wings of the glider are designed in a way so they can create lift. When the wings of the glider move horizontally through the air, they are creating a lift that is as powerful as gravity. Click Miller

The weight of the glider pulls it towards the ground. It is the force of gravity pulling at the glider. Yet the glider does not drop. It keeps on flying – sometimes for hours! Click Miller

When gravity is pulling glider down, there must be some other force pulling it upwards so it can stay in the air.		That force has to be just as powerful as gravity – otherwise the glider would fall down! The force pulling up the plane is called lift. Click Miller
