Wind Power Hub

Denmark is the hub of global wind power development. It is an unrivalled cluster of knowledge where manufacturers, suppliers, research and educational institutions combine expertise, innovation and advanced technology into a strong industry.

 

The Danish Wind Industry Association's vision is:

 

To strengthen Denmark's position as the Wind Power Hub – the leading global wind power centre of advanced technology, a highly qualified work force and intelligent energy system solutions.

 

We believe this is the strongest weapon in the intense competition with multinational companies. But in order for Denmark to be the Wind Power Hub of the world, political backing from the government is needed.

 

The Danish Wind Industry Association recommends:

• Focused political framework conditions that is able to maintain advanced technology and workplaces in Denmark
• Aggressive investment in public research and education that can provide stronger competences needed in the transformation from wind turbine to power plants
• Ambitious objectives for expanding the technology of wind power on land as well as offshore in order to secure the Danish energy supply

This will strengthen the foundation for Denmark as the global Wind Power Hub – an important step in a market growing to 82 billion euros by 2020. With a continuing Danish market share of approximately 40 %, the Danish Wind Power industry has the potential to be a leading provider of welfare in the Danish society - an opportunity Denmark cannot afford to miss.
