DWIA Data Protection Policy

It is DWIA alone who is responsible for collecting and processing personal data from DWIA’s websites, member companies and their employees, recipients of DWIA newsletters and/or direct mail, suppliers to DWIA, business partners, etc. (in the following stakeholders).
As of 25 May 2018, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has come into effect. DWIA is – both before and after 25 May 2018 – loyal and caring in protecting and processing data and information on stakeholders as required from the rules in force.
DWIA therefore is also GDPR compliant, and as stakeholder you have the following rights (list not exclusive):
  • Right to request insight, correction, transfer, anonymization, or deletion of personal data.
  • Right to revoke previously registered permissions for DWIA to e.g. send newsletters and direct mails.
  • Right to obtain a summary in structured form of your personal data collected by DWIA.

Participation in DWIA events/activities
Cf. the General Data Protection Regulations point (a) of article 6(1) reserves DWIA the right to register and process data on individuals participating in events hosted by DWIA. Such data comprise of name, company, email, position, and other relevant information on the event participants. On the above mentioned basis, DWIA also reserves the right to use photos taken at events for news articles, publications and marketing related material both in print and digital.
Member companies of DWIA and their employees
Cf. the General Data Protection Regulations point (a) of article 6(1) reserves DWIA the right to register and process data on member companies and their employees in regard to the companies’ membership of DWIA and send information with relevance to their membership. This is done to ensure the best possible service to all persons with access to DWIA’s services.
DWIA also reserves the right to store relevant data on companies with previous membership in DWIA and send them information in relevance to membership and/or DWIA activities for a period of up to 2 years.

Protection of personal data
On the basis of the General Personal Data Regulations, DWIA shares personal data with third parties in the form of the association's data processors. To this, as well as to the association’s general data management, IT systems are used where the degree of security meets the applicable obligations in the General Personal Data Regulation.

We advice you to direct enquiries and/or objections to the above to the DWIA secretariat on [email protected].

You are always entitled to file a complaint to the Danish Data Protection Agency if you are dissatisfied with the way we process your personal information. You will find the Danish Protection Agency's contact information at
