Research and education
In the fierce global competition of delivering still cheaper wind power it is a necessity for the Danish wind industry to be leaders in development of new products and technological innovation.
It is an obvious path for Denmark to continue to invest ambitiously in wind research and education, since it is one of the areas where Denmark is a global leader. This is a strong base for continued success in the global wind industry, which can contribute to growth and employment in Denmark.
The industry has continuously strengthened its research and development efforts. It is important that the publicly funded research activities are proportionally increased for Denmark to hold on to the current strong position within wind energy research.
Network research and innovation
The success of the Danish wind industry is characterised by close cooperation in a network of research institutions, manufacturers and costumers. This strong network should be nurtured and further developed into the global centre for wind energy technology – Wind Power Hub.
From turbine to power plant
Large scale wind power plants will increasingly dominate the global wind power market. As a result the industry is expanding its focus to not only the individual turbine, but also think in term of the intelligent wind power systems of tomorrow.
The transition from turbines to power plants creates needs for strengthening competences and an even closer cooperation with the educational institutions to match the demands of technology development in the future.
