Swedish E.ON AB has won the concession to build the 200 MW offshore wind farm at Rødsand II. E.ON won with a bit in 62.9 Dk. øre per. kWh in 50.000 full load hours. This corresponds to electricity production for about 14 years.
"I am especially satisfied that the new tendering has been a good and rapid process, so we can have Rødsand operational as soon as possible," said Minister of Climate and Energy, Connie Hedegaard, continuing
The offshore wind farm at Rødsand will annually supply about 200 000 households with electricity, corresponding to about 2% of Danish electricity use.
The 200 MW offshore wind farm should be connected to the Danish electrical grid by 30 September 2011.
Rødsand II had previously been open for competitive bidding, won by a consortium of Energi E2, DONG Vind and E.ON Vind Sverige.
The project later was turned over solely to E.ON Vind, which decided in late December 2007 not to construct the wind farm under the specified terms.
