Vestas Wind Systems A/S
Highly qualified staff creates results for Vestas. That is why it is Vestas’ policy to employ the best qualified staff in our organisation and ensure their continued progress. For this reason, Vestas has great interest in The Talent Factory, because it helps to draw attention to the wind industry as an exciting branch to work in.
Vestas offers a global workplace with the opportunity to work across the organisation and across borders with challenging assignments among talented colleagues and with demanding clients. We are an open organisation with a corporate culture where we are willing to reward those staff members who make a contribution.
Working with wind turbines offers at least as many high technology challenges as working in the automotive, aircraft or train industries. For example, a wind turbine should be constructed to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for a minimum of 20 years. That places major demands on the construction and on its regular maintenance. The list of challenges that the engineers and others at Vestas have to work with is long and includes, among other things, hydraulics, gears in all sizes and types, gearwheel calculations, statistical and dynamic strength calculations, composite solutions, carbon fibre, air, oil and water-cooling systems, generators and fluid mechanics.
Vestas is looking for many different types of engineers because of the diversity of the organisation.
