Gamesa Wind Engineering

GamesaGamesa is one of the leading global manufacturers of wind turbines. In 2004, it was ranked second worldwide in the manufacturing, sales and installation of wind turbines, with a market share of 18,1% according to BTM Consult ApS. In Spain Gamesa is the leader of the manufacture, sales and installation sector of wind turbines.

Gamesa has its own extensive design and technological development capability for wind turbines, as well as the largest integral production capacity, comprising of the manufacturing of blades, root joints, blade moulds, gearboxes, generators, converters and towers, besides assembling the wind turbines.

Gamesa offers a wide product range with a rated power from 850 kW to 2.0 MW. The main characteristics of Gamesa’s wind turbines are their robustness, adaptability, reliability and maximum performance on all types of sites and in all types of winds.

Gamesa has already supplied wind turbines in the US, Italy, France, Portugal, Germany, China, Japan, India and Latin America, and has an extensive marketing network, which includes its own companies in Germany and the US, sales offices in Italy, Greece, Portugal, France, the UK and Brazil, and cooperation agreements with important local companies in countries like Japan, India, China and Australia.

Gamesa Wind Engineering in Denmark:

Since September 2003 Gamesa has also been represented in Denmark, when Gamesa Wind Engineering was created. At the end of 2003 we were 11 employees. Since then we have expanded the office, so now we are 30 employees at the office. The company has 27 engineers with an average experience of 10 years within the wind power sector. We are located in nice surroundings in Silkeborg.

Gamesa Wind Engineering is a part of the Gamesa’s R&D organization. We take part in all phases of relevant projects from feasibility study to product manufacturing of wind turbines, as well as in the development of design projects for new models of wind turbines. These new designs will permit Gamesa to maintain its leadership within the wind turbine market.

Gamesa Wind Engineering is organized with three main units:

  • Blade/load/control unit
  • Mechanical unit
  • Electrical and software unit
