Carrer day for export engineers 1st of November

The Talent Factory was participating the career day for export engineers at Engineering College of Copenhagen on the 1st of November. We saw this as a great opportunity to meet the students and introduce them to the opportunities in the wind power industry. Export Engineers are very important to the industry because of the globalization of the industry. The wind power industry is one the biggest export successes in Denmark with an export in 2005, at approximately 2.5 billion euros.

Presentation of The Talent Factory at DTU
The new students at the MSc in Wind Energy at Ørsted and MEK at DTU were the first to be introduced to The Talent Factory on September 1st. The recently arrived international students were welcomed at their new place of education by a mix of educators and representatives from Siemens Wind Power and the Danish Wind Industry Association. Here they were introduced to their coming studies, wind power in Denmark, and the opportunities offered by The Talent Factory. Furthermore Siemens introduced the need for a broad range of engineers by using their 3.6 MW turbine as an example.

The reactions to The Talent Factory were positive and both students and educators expressed their interest in the project, and especially the opportunity to search for projects and traineeships drew some attention. But also the guest lecturers and company visits were a feature the students wanted to use during their studies in Denmark.

Wind Power Club meeting: Talent makes your company strong, august 2006
On the 23rd of august 30 companies organised in the Danish Wind Industry Association met at Vestas Wind Systems head quarters in Randers. The purpose of their meeting was to discuss ways to strengthen the wind power business by focusing on talented human resources.

Speakers from the audience and invited speakers discussed with the audience how to attract and recruit talented people, how to identify their talent, and how to work consciously to develop and profit from different types of talent.

The meeting also served as a pre-launch of The Talent Factory, and many companies in the audience showed interest in participating.

Educators on tour with The Talent Factory, june 2006

Workshop at Siemens2“The engineer students need to know more about the great opportunities in the wind power industry.”

These are the words from one of the educators that attended a wind power tour the 22nd May with The Talent Factory.

60 educators and people from the wind power industry attended the trip round Jylland with The Talent Factory. The purpose was to bring the educational world/system and the industry closer together so they could get a mutual understanding of each others needs and possibilities. And to find a way to make it easier for the students to benefit from having a world leader in wind power in Denmark.

Therefore the industry opened their doors and invited the educators inside to a conducted tour and an interesting dialog about the many opportunities in the wind power industry.

The educators visited LM Glasfiber and to their great excitement they saw the new wind tunnel. At Siemens they saw the production and had the possibility to ask questions to the specialist working there. Vestas talk about the global opportunities in wind power and invited the educators to network over dinner.
